COVID-19 has significantly impacted the Santa Monica community, including the way people get around. During this emergency the City’s goal is to facilitate safe travel for essential trips, and allow for safe social distancing on the transportation network.
To achieve these goals City staff have implemented interim changes to the transportation network. For example, traffic signals have been adjusted to automatically bring up pedestrian signals. This removes the need for people to physically touch pedestrian call buttons and facilitates safe social distancing. Additionally, in response to the needs of businesses temporary 10-minute loading zones have been created in certain areas to facilitate curbside delivery, pickup and takeout.
City staff’s priority is responding to the current crisis. We are asking for the community’s help in identifying additional transportation network needs in response to COVID-19. Please use this interactive map to leave comments or pictures on specific issues you are seeing and experiencing on the transportation network. These comments will be used for planning purposes; for a direct response to a comment or issue, please submit via the Santa Monica Works System.
